Rumour: WIN TV cuts production staff

Last week Prime Media, now WIN TV rumoured to be cutting regional TV staff.

It’s not a great time to be working in Regional television.

Hot on the heels of confirmation Prime Media is consulting with staff on redundancies, TV Tonight hears WIN TV cut production roles in Orange , Canberra and Wagga late last week.

The roles, including cameramen and editors, are believed to be part of a network-wide review of all production services, with Wollongong and Queensland tipped to be next in line.

Prime Media confirmed up to 28 staff are in consultation on redundancies, last week.

WIN Television did not respond to enquiries.

  1. WIN TV Toowoomba made their production department redundant last week. Production had been operating there for 56 years. Regional Television was put on a greasy pole from 1990 when Aggregation was introduced.
