2004 Swedish novel Let the Right One In is about to become a television pilot for TNT in the US.

The eerie story of a young boy who befriends a female vampire was made into a 2008 film in Sweden, and adapted into a 2010 US film, Let Me In with Australia’s own Kodi Smitt-McPhee.

Teen Wolf and Criminal Minds creator Jeff Davis will adapt the book by John Ajvide Lindqvist and will serve as an executive producer with Marty Adelstein (Aquarius, Prison Break, Teen Wolf) and Becky Clements (Aquarius, Last Man Standing) of Tomorrow Studios, plus Simon Oakes (Women in Black, Let Me In) of Hammer Films, Carl Molinder who produced the original screenplay and Alex Brunner (Dark Places).

Let the Right One In combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale,” said Sarah Aubrey, TNT’s executive vice president of original programming. “This novel is a watershed of rich storytelling, making it an abundant source from which Jeff, Marty, Becky and Simon will bring to life in this all-new adaptation.”

“TNT has amassed an incredible slate of programming and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with them. Their collaboration and shared enthusiasm for bringing Let the Right One In to the US TV audience is incredibly exciting to all of us,” added Adelstein, exec producer and CEO of Tomorrow Studios.

  1. One season only-you can’t really have a vampire child star who grows up over time-strange choice given the relatively recent US film was not well received and vampires are somewhat passé given the rise of the zombies.
