Amazon crime drama Bosch, starring Titus Welliver, is getting a fourth season.

The cop drama, based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels, is currently in production on its third season due in 2017.

“Prime members have loved following Detective Harry Bosch as he navigates difficult situations in his professional and personal lives, and we’re excited to let them know that even more is coming,” said Roy Price, vice president of Amazon Studios.

Connelly added, “I am happy beyond words. To think we are going to get another season to explore these characters is wonderful. Our team has worked very hard to create the most realistic detective show possible and I think that is resonating with viewers.”

Bosch has screened in Australia on SBS.

    1. Well, I think I’m the one who said it was the most trope-filled cop show ever – especially the first season, where spotting them would make a fantastic (but very short!) drinking game 😉 – but I also said it rose well above that, was quite good, and very much worth watching 😉

*Takes shot as Lance Reddick has yet another conversation in a deserted carpark through the window of his big black SUV, slides slowly under the table …* 😉

      1. C’mon Tex. He’s a hard-nosed cop who is friends with his ex-wife, his kid thinks he’s Father of the Year even tho’ he’s never around, and he listens to jazz! How cool is that?

Okay, okay. I’m getting a bottle out of the cabinet…

    1. Interesting … I love the show too, but I’m not too keen on the weirdly named Titus Welliver. He carries himself in an odd manner, which makes him look arrogant.

      1. Yes he can appear arrogant but I think that works here.
The Bosch character in the books doesn’t suffer fools and often gets in trouble with his superiors and others, which the show hasn’t really covered in detail.

          1. “Connelly gives a good clue as to how he visualizes Bosch when, in The Overlook, Rachel Walling tells Bosch that “You look like House” (actor Hugh Laurie).” 🙂
I can forgive a lot for a good cast and stylish filming. I’d also rather watch a less than perfect drama than any reality show.
