Melbourne Cup tops the week but Nine takes ratings trophy

Ratings: Nine wins ratings week, while TEN slips behind ABC.

In the closing stages of the ratings year Nine has grabbed another week, despite Seven having the Melbourne Cup.

The Cup rose to 2.06million, up from its preliminary figure of 1.96m. Doctor Doctor (806,000) finished the week as the top drama.

Without a big reality title TEN slipped back behind the ABC, including with Friday night titles near the top of its week -that’s a rarity. On SBS new drama Tutankhamun topped the week.

Nine won all three demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Nine: The Block (Sun: 1.18m), Nine News (Sun: 1.02m), 60 Minutes (855,000) and Doctor Doctor (806,000).

Seven: Melbourne Cup (Race: 2.06m), Seven News (1.04m), First Dates (798,000) and Better Homes and Gardens (772,000).

ABC: ABC News (Sun: 822,000), Four Corners (710,000), Grand Designs: House of the Year (708,000) and Australian Story (696,000).

TEN: Have You Been Paying Attention? (575,000), The Living Room (531,000), The Project (7pm: 520,000) and The Graham Norton Show (447,000).

SBS: Tutankhamun (310,000), Who Do You Think You Are? (309,000), Insight (287,000) and Matthew Evans for the Love of Meat (242,000).

Nine won Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Seven scored on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. ABC bettered TEN on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday.

Seven was victorious in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Nine held Sydney and Melbourne.

Including this week there are only 3 more weeks in the 2016 ratings year.
