Nine confirms Garry Lyon returning to Footy Classified
Garry Lyon will return next year as co-host alongside Craig Hutchison.

Nine has confirmed Garry Lyon will return to Footy Classified next year as co-host alongside Craig Hutchison plus Caroline Wilson and Matthew Lloyd.
It marks his return to television following a year off for mental health.
“I love Footy Classified and have loved doing it in the past and thankfully, I have an opportunity to resume my role with three people I respect and look forward to working alongside again,” Lyon said.
Nine Melbourne Managing Director, Ian Paterson, added, “I’m delighted that Garry will be returning to the Footy Classified lineup in 2017.
“Over the years Garry’s played a vital role in the success of Footy Classified and we can’t wait to see him back on station and tackling the season ahead.”
Nine did not mention Damian Barrett, who joined the panel full-time earlier this year, in its press release.
Lyon is not returning to The Footy Show.

good to hear that Lyons is returning to this show.
I just hope that Nine (Gem) will air this show at a more family friendly timeslot for us in Sydney (and Brisbane) in 2017!
I thought Sam was key to the Footy Show formula, and to an extent he is, but Garry really was the heart and soul of The Footy Show and it just isn’t the same without him. I didn’t realise just how much they relied on him for laughs, because unfortunately this year, the laughs largely dried up.

Great news. Have so missed Garry’s deep football knowledge, acserbic wit, wry sense of humour and thoughtful opinion. Will be great to see Gazza back in the Footy Classified chair. Everyone – absolutely everyone – makes silly mistakes so credit to Gaz for returning to the public arena. Best of luck Garry.
