The Good Wife spin-off now has a title, to be known as The Good Fight.

The series will pick up one year after the end of The Good Wife and sees Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo reprise their roles as Diane Lockhart and Lucca Quinn, respectively.

After an enormous financial scam destroys the reputation of young lawyer Maia and wipes out the savings of her mentor Diane Lockhart, the two are forced out of Lockhart & Lee and join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.

Also appearing in the cast are Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Sarah Steele, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters and Erica Tazel.

Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King will executive produce.

The series is set to premiere in February as the first original scripted series on CBS All Access platform, which adds Star Trek: Discovery in May.

The Good Fight is produced by CBS Television Studios meaning a good chance TEN will have the series for Australia. TEN’s 2017 Upfronts will be announced on Friday.

  1. Ooooh good news, I hope 10 do pick it up. I can’t remember anyone called Maia on the show, maybe she’s someone who joined the firm in the year since it finished. So Diane loses all her money, this should be interesting. No Eli, I was hoping if they did a spin off he’d come too.

  2. Does TEN have one of those output deals with CBS whereby they have to purchase a certain number of shows (like Seven has with ABC/Disney) or is it just a first-look deal? Because I’m not sure TEN would want it if they don’t have to take it, given The Good Wife never set their ratings world on fire.
