Actor Vince Colosimo received a good behaviour bond and $1000 fine yesterday after pleading guilty to possession of the drug ice.
Colosimo, 50, was driving in Fitzroy North at 4.10am on September 26 when police pulled him over and observed him trying to conceal a bag near his feet.
Inside the bag, police said they found a black sunglasses case which contained a small sealed bag of ice.
Magistrate Brian Clifford chose not to convict Colosimo but placed him on a 12-month good behaviour bond and fined him $1000. The court heard he needed four months to pay a $1000 fine and was working on building sites to supplement his income.
He recently told News Corp: “Some people make mistakes, I did, and this has been a wake-up call.
“It’s onwards and upwards. It happened a long time ago in September. I want to focus on my family and work. I’ve been away on holiday and am in a good place.”
In late 2014, the actor’s licence was suspended in the Melbourne Magistrates Court after he was caught twice driving with a suspended licence.
Colosimo has a long list of Australian film & TV credits including Underbelly, The Secret Life of Us, Lantana, Chopper and The Wog Boy. In late 2016 he has been filming The Warriors for ABC.

so what would a normal person get , a slap on the wrist or worse
Case finalised in time for him to be going to the jungle.
Vince you have been a good actor, you are a father to 2 children. Use this is a massive wake up call and reality check.
Last night 5.30pm on Nine – Customs hosted by Vince Colosimo. The opening line of the episode spoken by Vince was “If you do drugs, you’re going to get caught.”
Hope he stays away from that insidious drug.Such a good actor also .
“it happened a long time ago” – 4 months
That’s the problem with society nowadays with a comment like ‘a minor offence’ for possession of drugs such as ice. I do sincerely hope he (and many others) get their life sorted at least for the sake of their loved ones.
This incident has not altered my opinion of Vince, an excellent actor and great guy. Everyone makes mistakes.
I feel for him. The amount of media scrutiny for what is really a relatively minor offence has been intense. Let’s hope he can get his life back on track as he is one of our best actors.
“Relatively minor” wow. No wonder there’s a drug problem in this country.
Well said. I am so glad at least there’s one person that share my sentiment.
Well it is quite minor, it’s not like he was charged with supplying, and he hasn’t hurt anyone but himself. Give the guy a break.
I know this is a TV forum so I won’t bore you with media stories from families and loved ones of drug users (some started with a small bag too). Hmmm…I am thinking of the Industry Super Fund ad ‘From Little Things Big Things Grow’.
