Who has The Good Fight?

Not TEN, not Foxtel, not Stan.... so who has The Good Wife sequel?

Which Australian network has the rights to The Good Wife sequel, The Good Fight?

Logically the show would have gone to TEN as part of its CBS output. But TEN’s Chief Content Officer Beverley McGarvey told me the network didn’t have the show.

Foxtel’s Brian Walsh also confirmed they don’t have the show. This week Stan also made its key announcements, with no word.

The series picks up one year after the end of The Good Wife and sees Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo reprise their roles as Diane Lockhart and Lucca Quinn, respectively.

After an enormous financial scam destroys the reputation of young lawyer Maia and wipes out the savings of her mentor Diane Lockhart, the two are forced out of Lockhart & Lee and join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.

Also appearing are Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Sarah Steele, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters and Erica Tazel.

While the show premieres on February 19 in the US it looks like Australians will be kept waiting….

    1. So strange…. I thought someone would have announced by now… maybe Good Wife only just a niche following after all 😛

I assumed Netflix based on what appears to be some sort of relationship with CBS, they have a few CW shows added day/date with US like Riverdale and Frequency both produced by CBS/Warner who also product Good Fight. Not to mention the Star Trek Discovery deal that was announced, seemed like a safe bet.

Unless they surprise us, maybe noone has it.

  1. I’m pretty sure torrent sites will be picking it up. Just a hunch though.

But really. Probably on streaming since it’s on CBS All Access in the U.S. Maybe Netflix. Or CBS All Access will move into Australia like Amazon Prime Video did. Plus I’m pretty sure a few years ago CBS All Access could be used in Australia without a VPN. Not anymore though.

  2. Surely the networks know how popular The Good Wife was, and what a devoted following it had. With this in mind, why hasn’t someone picked up The Good Fight yet?

Even though I have Netflix, Foxtel and Stan, I kind of hope The Good Fight goes to an FTA channel where everyone can enjoy it – but please don’t butcher it with ads, pop-ups, huge watermarks and logos.

  3. far out. Not on ten. Well hopefully Netflix will have it since the good wife is on there.

I suppose it might end up on those illegal torrent sites to download………

  4. If 7 or 9 get it they’ll show one episode (maybe two if we’re lucky) then relegate it to some obscure timeslot which will change from week to week. At least 10 stick with a program and tend to keep it at the same time each week, look at Blue Bloods, Macgyver, Hawaii Five O.

  5. Given Netflix have worked with CBS All Access to obtain the international rights to Star Trek Discovery, it stands to reason they have an in to obtain further All Access originals. Well that’s one possibility.

  6. It has its best chance for success on SVOD.

On FTA it would get 350k and be bumped to 10.30 within weeks

US scripted content is dead on FTA, largely. The networks killed it
