Disney airs first same-sex kiss

Well it is Mardi Gras season after all….

Disney XD channel has aired its first ever same-sex kiss on animated adventure series Star vs the Forces of Evil.

In the scene Star and her close friend Marco attend a concert, and when the boyband start playing a song called ‘Just Friends’, couples in the audience start kissing, including a gay couple.

In a later scene, viewers can see two females kissing as well.

In 2014 The Disney Channel introduced a lesbian couple who dropped off their child for a play-date in Good Luck Charlie.

Star vs the Forces of Evil is only the second show in Disney’s history to be created by a woman, Daron Nefcy, following 1997’s Pepper Ann.
