Meet “mini-Sheldon”

Also, original cast members reportedly agree to pay cut to boost their co-stars salary.

Big Little Lies actor Iain Armitage has reportedly been cast as young Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory prequel, Sheldon.

Zoe Perry (Scandal) will play his mother Mary Cooper.

The single-cam comedy is written by co-creator Chuck Lorre and showrunner Steve Molaro, with fellow co-creator Bill Prady also said to be on board and Jim Parsons receiving an exec producer credit.

So far the project does not yet have a Pilot order, which is surely just a formality.

Meanwhile the original cast Big Bang members Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg have apparently offered to take pay cuts so Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch can get raises.

The original cast members agreed to take a $US100,000 pay cut in order to free up $US500,000 for Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch to divide per episode.

Reports claim they are currently getting paid approximately $200,000 per episode, while the original five cast members get paid $1 million.

The pay cut offer would bring them to about $450,000 per episode, a significant raise but still not equal to their co-stars.

Salary negotiations will begin next week.
