Bert Newton hospitalised for tests

TV legend Bert Newton has been hospitalised at Epworth Hospital for the second time in 2 months, following complications with his battle with pneumonia in March.

Nine News reports the 78 year old has been unable to rid himself of a cough. Doctors are hoping a series of tests will determine the cause.

He was a no-show at the Logies on Sunday with wife Patti Newton posting on social media that he was too ill to attend.

Patti also denied the latest round of magazine headlines that have dogged the showbiz couple.

“Believe none of it,” she insisted.
