Kochie safely on Hawaiian soil, but wait…..

Never mind the April Fool's gag, it's sour Sunrise viewers that are daring to spoil the Mystery Week tour.

Despite an April Fool’s Gag that dared to suggest otherwise, David Koch is busy at work in Hawaii for Sunrise’s Mystery Week today.

Kochie took to Facebook to share a photo relaxing with Sam Armytage, Natalie Barr and a few mai tais.

But not everybody was enamoured with the idea of Sunrise being in the US while Queensland and NSW have been damaged by Cyclone Debbie.

Some of Kochie’s followers let their feelings be known:

How about a tour around oz showcasing beautiful eyre peninsula and victor harbor great weather beautiful scenery i could even be tour guide

Why are we showing off America support Australia tourism especially qld they r going to need it !!

Why didn’t sunrise chose to go to one of the tourist destinations ravaged by the cyclone? Like the Whitsundays or Airlie Beach?

i get sick of watching you all have a blast . and saying its for the viewers? how does it make me feel good to see you relaxing by a pool with a cocktail?

Here’s an idea. Why dont you travel around Australia instead and the money you save from doing this overseas gets donated to our own compatriots who are suffering everyday because they cant even travel within their own towns.

Enjoy your MaiTAis… whilst 1/2 of Queensland floods guys

Good heavens- one day acting like you know it all about cyclones & now you don’t give a dam & holidaying & supporting another country – unbelievable Sunrise !.

Time to promote some of Australia’s Sm Struggling Towns

i get sick of watching you all have a blast . and saying its for the viewers? how does it make me feel good to see you relaxing by a pool with a cocktail? Never been out of Austalia and never likely too.. being on a disability pension.

I for 1 love watching all of you go to different places around the world keep up the great work.I will be watching in the morning

Tomorrow the show moves to California.

  1. Those comments reek of envy and self entitlement. What does it matter if Kochie’s in Hawaii? It’s a morning TV show that pulls viewers by trying to light up people’s mornings a little. If seeing people having fun makes you sad, don’t watch…

  2. Sunrise has spent years promoting small towns and cities all over Australia… and I’m sure will continue to do so for many years to come. They spent most of last week in the worst affected areas of QLD, but still get criticised. What a bunch of whingers!

    1. If you havent noticed they sunrise promote the same Australian destinations every time they travel haven’t you noticed it’s always the Gold Coast the tweed Melbourne Brisbane gold coast etc .there are thousands of coastal villages and towns sunrise have never been to still after all these years yet there are destinations they have been to multiple times.what does that tell you . regional cities around the country with very high unemployment and needed a toruism boost that could do with the publicity like Kiama and Ulladulla or Batemans bay Bowral etc to name a view have never had the pleasure of sunrises presence .why you may ask . Yet how many times have they been to Hawaii and San Fran and Las Vegas and New York .you wonder why people are sick of these junkets and the same destinations year after year, they know sunrise and today only go where the money is.

  3. Well obviously they can’t go to the Whitsundays atm as one person suggested, as everything is still closed and recovering. I don’t feel like this week is much of a big deal though, it feels all ‘been there, done that’. They’ve done lots of weeks in America now, even one I think just last year where they went to a different city everyday like they’re doing this week.
