The future of Neighbours seems to have been secured with news that a deal has reportedly reached between Channel 5 in the UK and FremantleMedia.
According to The Mirror, a deal has been reached covering the next 4 years.
It follows news that parent company Viacom failed to recognise the social history of the series with British viewers, triggering headlines and a petition topping 22,000 signatures.
In the end it may have been a strategy as part of contract negotiation.
Either way, it’s good news for the Aussie soap if it proves to be true.
Both Channel 5 and FremantleMedia both declined to comment.

Maybe Viacom could buy Network TEN. I think that would make sense for TEN because they cant survive without foreign owners. Viacom or CBS sounds like a good fit, as for Neighbours staying on air in UK it sounds good gives them some more time. Although there time could be numbered too.
Many people still happy to see Neighbours continue.
