Well I’m bored already…

The CW has released a trailer for its Dynasty reboot which features Aussie Alan Dale.

A modern take that follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. The series centers on two women at odds: Fallon Carrington, daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington (Grant Show), and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal (Nathalie Kelley), a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America’s most powerful class. The drama also promises to expose “the dark underbelly” of the one percent: a corrupt world built on backroom deals, betrayal, and, in some cases, murder.

  1. It’s just a typical offering from The CW, smut. If that’s all it has going for it then I hope the actors update their resumes in readiness for when it’s not renewed.

  2. Lets remember these older series as they were and not try and copy them it never seems to work as you always compare them with the original cast members and story lines. Let sleeping dogs lie.

  3. That’s Australian actress Nathalie Kelley as Cristal (OK, born in Peru but moved her when she was 2) – probably best known as the girl in the video for Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are”. Somehow, I doubt this show is going to significantly enhance her resume!

    1. Basically the whole story/plotline is shown in the clip, the rest you can fill in yourself. Alan Dale thrown in to give it some weight, it is not enough to match the original in terms of actors. This current lot is bland and too one-dimensional.

      1. Alan Dale – weight?! Fine enough actor, but he’s never been able to pull off gravitas without it seeming either double-cheesy or sleazy. Though from the looks of it that fits right in and he might just be the best thing in this silly mess.

And yes, it looks like they’ve missed the whole point of “trailer”…

  4. So it looks as though I’m one of the 1% of the 1% who is actually looking forward to it. (Or they won me over with the men in bed together!) 🙂
