Kathy Griffin apologises for “decapitated Trump” photo

US comedian Kathy Griffin has apologised after coming under fire for posing with a decapitated, bloody, fake head resembling Donald Trump for a photo shoot.
TMZ has published the photo taken photographer Tyler Shields, who’s known for edgy, shocking pics.
During the photo shoot, Kathy joked that she and Tyler would need to move to Mexico once the pics got released, for fear they’d be thrown in prison.
Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. tweeted, “Disgusting but not surprising. This is the left today. They consider this acceptable. Imagine a conservative did this to Obama as POTUS?”
Chelsea Clinton also tweeted, “This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president.”
After a backlash Griffin took to social media to beg forgiveness.
“I sincerely apologise. I’m just now seeing the reaction of these images. I’m a comic, I cross the line. I move the line, then I cross it. I went way too far,” she said. “The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career; I will continue. I ask your forgiveness. (I’m) taking down the image. (I’m) going to ask the photographer to take down the image and I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake and I was wrong.”

Hmmm… seems they have short memories as well as thin skins. Back in 2015, Fox News carried the heartwarming Halloween story of a guy who’s yard decorations included the Grim Reaper carrying Obama’s head on a pike, and how the whiny humourless Liberal Left wanted to take away the guy’s right to Freeze Peach…
I saw the same issue raised on Twitter! Yeah, it’s not a left v right thing. Kathy apologized swiftly and I understand her intention at the time, although I thought it was disgusting, I’m happy to forgive her lack of judgement and move on.
Completely agree. Seems like there is one standard for Democratic Party supporters and no standard for Republican/Tea Party supporters. Offensive behaviour should be called out regardless.
