Renewed: Law & Order: SVU, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Plus Speechless and Fresh off the Boat.

More US titles have been renewed ahead of network Upfronts.

Law and Order: SVU has been renewed for a 19th season.

Now in its 18th season, SVU is America’s longest-running primetime scripted show currently on broadcast television. Starring Mariska Hargitay, it averages nearly 9 million viewers and has sold to more than 250 territories. It’s good news for producer Dick Wolf who received renewals for Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. this week. Legal series Chicago Justice is awaiting word.

SVU, which screens in Australia on TEN, is honing in on Gunsmoke‘s record of 20 seasons, a number Law and Order was unable to eclipse.

Meanwhile comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been renewed for a fifth season. The Andy Samberg series, which airs in Australia on SBS VICELAND, draws 3.3 million viewers and will reach 100 episodes making it ripe for syndication.

Speechless, starring Minnie Driver, is renewed for a second season. It averages 7.2 million viewers. Fresh off the Boat, which is drawing 5.2 million viewers, also heads to a fourth season. Both screen here on ELEVEN.

  1. Well done to Law and Order: SVU. Absolutely love that show. I hope TEN puts it back on Thursdays. I don’t mind it being on Saturdays, but I prefer Thursdays.
