Two comedies have been renewed by HBO for 2018: Veep and Silicon Valley.
Veep will return for a seventh season and Silicon Valley for a fifth season.
The pickups come midway through their current seasons, which both wrap on June 25.
Veep has 11 Emmys under its belt so far, with a record five wins for star Julia Louis-Dreyfus as best lead actress in a comedy series.
Silicon Valley will return without T.J. Miller as entrepreneur Erlich Bachman.
Both shows are currently screening in Australia, on Showcase or Comedy channels.

It’s good to see Silicon Valley will keep it’s story going but this season the laughs are not as loud as previous seasons as the characters are becoming a bit too familiar and predictable with their failures, but it is comedy satire after all.
I think Silicon Valley will last at least another couple of seasons as it is a 30 minute show but there is a nascent risk that the story will run out of the original comedy ideas that make it refreshing fun to watch.
