Update: MasterChef Australia

TEN bumps Sunday episode back to a 7:30pm start.

In a surprise programming move TEN is bumping its Sunday edition of MasterChef Australia to a 7:30pm start.

The change follows Sunday’s 7pm episode trailing The Voice and House Rules -but it now gives Nine and Seven a thirty minute jump, which is arguably good news for them.

In recent months many readers had encouraged TEN to screen reality shows head to head on Sundays to avoid rival programmes enjoying a thirty minute head start.

This Sunday it now airs the Modern Family season finale at 7pm. It’s not clear if the switch is make way for a new title at 6:30pm a week later.

Sunday’s schedule is now:

6pm Family Feud
6:30pm Modern Family rpt
7pm Modern Family
7:30pm MasterChef Australia
9:10pm Bull
10:10pm NCIS: New Orleans
11:10pm NCIS: New Orleans rpt

There is no change to weeknight scheduling.

  1. Masterchef is the only choice in this household. We’ll watch it no matter what time it’s on. We don’t care for the rest of the evening’s line up though. At least not until Shark Tank.

  2. Ten need to fix Sundays, pronto. The fact MasterChef pulls the numbers it does with the dreadful numbers leading into it is a small miracle. Should be a state based news bulletin at 6; a funny family ‘Thank God You’re Here’ style show for 6.30; latest reality ‘tentpole’ at 7.30; cheap and cheerful entertainment/chat show at 9.

    1. Lines up with the weekday times, and the MCAU audience probably isn’t watching The Voice / House Rules anyway.

I know I expected it to be on @ 7:30 the first Sunday, and had to change routine a little for the 7:00 start…
