Hanson drops case against ABC, forced to pay costs.

Legal action continues between One Nation senator & ex-Treasurer, but proceedings against ABC are dropped.

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has withdrawn legal action against the ABC that sought to stop them broadcaster from airing more secret recordings.

But lawyers for ABC told the NSW Supreme Court they did not have any more secret recordings other than those already aired.

Dropping her case against the broadcaster, Hanson will be forced to pay the ABC’s legal fees.

The injunction followed a story by 7:30 which revealed a secretly recorded phone conversation between Senator Hanson and former One Nation treasurer Ian Nelson, where Hanson appeared worried the alleged donation of a light aircraft would become public, months before it became a controversy.

Senator Hanson has succeeded in temporarily gagging Ian Nelson and proceedings against him are continuing.
