HBO’s new series The Deuce, set in the ’70s and ’80s, tells the story of the legalisation and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square.

Starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, it hails from The Wire and Treme writers George Pelecanos and David Simon.

The Deuce premieres in the US in September and is expected to screen on Showcase.
