New documentary special Amelia Earhart: The Lost Evidence will screen on History next month.
The 2 hour special has been attracting US attention over some of its revelations about the pioneering aviator.
Former FBI official Shawn Henry investigates new, shocking evidence that aviator Amelia Earhart was captured by the Japanese military, including a photograph that purports to show Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan alive after their disappearance. Evidence includes documents containing new information indicating that the U.S. government knew that she was in the custody of a foreign power, and may have covered it up.
Monday August 21 at 8.30pm on History.

It ended up not airing
I checked. Foxtel advises it was pulled at the last minute due to the States keeping it on hold. It may be released in the near future but no further information yet.
Whilst she was personally brave, Earhart was not a particularly good flyer and plenty of pioneering aviators went missing in the 20s and 30s never to be seen again-no GPS, radar or even basic infrastructure like weather data ensured that.
This theory has been thoroughly debunked. The so-called evidence is bogus.
