Casting: Hawaii Five-0, This is Us.

Daniel Dae Kim & Grace Park are out of Hawaii Five-0, and the This is Us kids get promoted for Season 2.

Some casting news from the US, pertaining to two TEN shows….

Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park will not be returning to Hawaii Five-0‘s eighth season.

“I will never forget meeting Daniel while still writing the pilot and being certain there was no other actor who I’d want to play Chin Ho Kelly,” showrunner Peter Lenkov said in a statement.

“Needless to say, Daniel has been an instrumental part of the success of Hawaii Five-0 over the past seven seasons and it has personally been a privilege to know him. Grace’s presence gave Hawaii Five-0 a beauty and serenity to each episode. She was the consummate collaborator, helping build her character from day one. They will always be ohana [Hawaiian for “family”] to us, we will miss them and we wish them both all the best.”

Meanwhile in news from This Is Us, Hannah Zeile (teenage Kate), Niles Fitch (teenage Randall), Logan Shroyer (teenage Kevin), Mackenzie Hancsicsak (young Kate), Parker Bates (young Kevin), Faithe Herman (Annie Pearson) and Eris Baker (Tess Pearson), have been promoted to series regulars for Season 2.

Alexandra Breckinridge (Sophie) and Jon Huertas (Miguel) have also been elevated to regulars for the second season.

  1. I am so disappointed that Daniel and Grace are leaving Hawaii Five-0 due to a pay dispute. They were really talented on the show and I can’t wait to see what they’ll be on next. I’ll also be interested in who replaces them on the next season.
