John Cho joins The Exorcist

Star Trek actor joins the season 2 of US possession drama.

John Cho (Star Trek, Sleepy Hollow, Go On) was announced this week as joining the second season of The Exorcist.

The news follows confirmation that Geena Davis would not be returning as the possession storyline moves to a new family. Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) are both returning as the link between seasons.

Deadline reports Season 2 picks up with Father Ortega and a newly collarless Marcus Keane out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Across the Atlantic, Father Bennett (Kurt Egyiawan) attempts to weed out those within the Vatican who have turned against God. Ultimately, Tomas and Marcus are led to Andrew Kim (Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two priests head west, setting themselves on a collision course with hell.

The Exorcist returns in the US on September 29, but a date for Showcase is yet to be confirmed here.
