Mt Midoriyama too tough for Aussie Ninjas

Aussie viewers get a rude first lesson in just how tough the Ninja obstacle course is.

It had been a great first season but Australian Ninja Warrior ended anti-climactically after no entrant was able to conquer the dreaded Mount Midoriyama.

Fred Dorrington (NSW) finished furthest fastest ahead of Tom O’Halloran (NSW) and Ashlin Herbert (Vic).

Only 8 contestants made it to stage two.

Both Fred and Tom reached the Unstable Bridge in Stage 2 of 3, but the night also included a disqualification before it was cleared.

In the US it took seven seasons for someone to conquer Mount Midoriyama, but that’s of little solace to Aussie viewers who were expecting a winner.

Many took to social media to unleash their opinions.

  1. The Ninja Warrior GF last night was so disappointing where no contestant had a chance of climbing Mt Midoriyama. I felt so gutted when the contestants ran out of time. This wasn’t a good ending to a show.

  2. That final course was ridiculously hard for even the most talented of the finalists.
Some of them definitely deserved to conquer Mt Midoriyama – the entire audience and so many viewers at home willing them to succeed.
Really disappointing way to end the show.

  3. Nine probably should have done something to make this aspect of the format clearer. Pretty predictable reaction to seeing the show for the first time.
