  1. Why should the ABC be concerned about ‘winning’ timeslots? It’s receives $1B regardless. All the ABC is doing is competing (unfairly) against private companies.

  2. On Survivor, the Australian version ends up being a very long running show and I am sure numbers increase once we get to the jury members stage. Still much fluff around and some people who hardly spoke up at all. For instance, one of the favorites to win, Odette spoke for the first time last night and there I was thinking she was mute… But hey, I am a Survivor tragic so will watch every episode and I am sure not everyone is like that.

More importantly, when is 7 going to drop the “Hell” of a show, those numbers are a real problem?

          1. I’ve taken a screen shot in case those names prove true, it would suggest production crew betting. It’s a live finale but it could still allude to finalists.

  3. We shunned TTNY after the second episode – too much with Karl’s rehearsed astonishment and surprise as each ‘new’ story was revealed.
By the way, I have an idea for a new kind of reality show.
“Karl vs. Kyle” – the TV and radio ‘personalities’ are pitted against each other to see who’s ego is the biggest with audience participation by voting.
Series culminates in a huge, 100 metre deep pit where the two stand at the bottom gazing upwards as 30,000 earthmovers bury them for all time.
I expect the season to last 10 weeks.
    Any takers?

  4. David, would be interested in your thoughts.
Australian Survivor is not really igniting the ratings at this stage, but is faring very well in key demographics.
It’s clearly quite an expensive production, so will TEN pull the pin or the trigger?

    1. In addition, it is also doing really well in time-shift viewing (it is the highest or second highest show of the night, in terms of viewership gained).

      1. Yes, from what I’ve seen, I think viewers generally prioritise their live viewing to 7 and 9. Look at the VPM ratings for online streams as well as timeshift & The Bachelor / Aus Survivor are prominent. not sure how good it is for TEN though, as non-live viewing can skip ads & there’s less ads on streaming
