AFL Footy Show: My Room Telethon

The AFL Footy Show is hosting its annual My Room Telethon tomorrow night at the earlier time of 7.30pm in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

The event, which raises funds for children’s cancer research will see Eddie McGuire, Rebecca Maddern, Sam Newman, Billy Brownless, Shane Crawford and Dave Hughes joined by television, sporting and entertainment stars.

AFL stars will be answering calls and taking donations in the Telstra Celebrity Phone Room, including Luke Hodge, Max Gawn, Tom Hawkins, Alex Rance, Nick Riewoldt, Steve Johnson, Brendon Goddard, Jack Ziebell, Jarryd Roughead, Majak Daw, Jack Riewoldt, Zach Merrett, Harry Taylor, Scott Pendlebury, Christian Petracca, Taylor Adams, Josh Gibson, Marc Murphy – and the list goes on.

AFLW champions including Moana Hope and Steph Chiocci will be joining the boys in the phone room as well as basketball sensation Andrew Bogut, boxing superstar Danny Green, cricket legend Shane Warne and NRL champion Cameron Smith.

Huge names from the entertainment industry will be lending a hand, including Andy Lee, Kat Stewart, Vince Colosimo, Patti Newton, Sam Wood and Ryan Corr.

Fan favourites from The Block, Nine News, The Voice, Married at First Sight, Postcards, Kids’ WB, Getaway and many more of Nine’s programs will also be fronting up to answer calls in the phone bank.

There will be two panels anchoring the telethon, featuring the best defender in the AFL, Alex Rance, Collingwood young gun Jordan De Goey, Australia’s best-known sporting larrikin, Shane Warne, retiring GWS superstar Steve Johnson, North Melbourne spearhead Ben Brown, and one half of the funniest duo in the country, Andy Lee.

Last year the My Room Telethon raised an incredible $1 million, which went towards new projects at Monash Children’s Hospital, such as the My Room Clinical Research Fellowship Program, family support and vital equipment.
