AFTRS is holding Postgraduate Information Evening next Wednesday on its 2018 courses, with a panel discussion followed by networking drinks in the foyer.

This is your chance to talk to tutors about training in Cinematography, Creative Producing, Directing, Documentary, Editing, Music, Screenwriting, Animation, Sound, Business and Leadership.

In addition to its roll call of awarded filmmakers, AFTRS graduates have landed senior positions at major production houses, broadcasters and national and state screen bodies such as Matchbox Pictures, Essential Media, Channel 7, Channel TEN, SBS, Screen Australia and Create NSW.

Information sessions about AFTRS 2018 Postgraduate Courses:

Graduate Certificates (7 disciplines)
AFTRS Graduate Certificates offer students the opportunity to discover and develop their creative voice and acquire the conceptual and professional skills required in their chosen career to meet the challenging demands of an evolving screen landscape. These postgraduate courses are delivered part-time across two semesters, on evenings and/or weekends at the AFTRS campus. The course is structured so that students can maintain full-time employment while they gain their qualification.

Disciplines offered in 2018 are: Cinematography, Creative Producing, Directing, Documentary, Editing, Music and Screenwriting. (1 year part time)

Master of Arts Screen (10 disciplines)
AFTRS Master of Arts Screen is a hands-on transformative learning experience. The two year, full-time  degree is designed to enable the future creative leaders of the industry and fast-track screen professionals into head of department positions.   AFTRS’ Masters is highly regarded by the industry both in Australia and globally. Graduates have won or been nominated for a slate of awards and have a track record of appointment into senior positions at major production houses, broadcasters and national and state screen bodies such as Matchbox Pictures, Essential Media, Channel 7,  Channel Ten, SBS, Screen Australia and Create NSW.

Ten disciplines are offered in 2018: Animation, Cinematography, Directing, Documentary, Editing, Music, Producing, Production Design, Screenwriting and Sound.  (2 years, full time)

Master of Arts Screen: Business & Leadership
AFTRS MA Screen: Business and Leadership is a transformational program that provides students with the skills and knowledge to succeed and thrive as leaders in today’s fast-moving screen business environment.

The ability to adapt and thrive are defining features of successful companies. Offering a unique blend of creative leadership and business essentials, in this course you will learn the latest approaches to managing creativity, applying leadership principles to your own workplace and career pathways. By the end of the MA Screen: Business and Leadership, you will have discovered your own unique leadership style; how to shape a working business model; and, crucially, you will also have an understanding of how to persuade people to their cause. The course is practical, high-level, current and collaborative.

As well as information sessions there will be an Alumni Insights panel discussion and Networking drinks in the Foyer where you can put your questions to our industry tutors
