US comedy The Middle will wrap with its upcoming 9th season.
Featuring Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher and Atticus Shaffer it airs in Australia on 9GO!
The Hollywood Reporter notes The Middle has long been used as the anchor to ABC’s Wednesday comedy block, which now sees The Goldbergs serving in the same capacity. The network shifted it to Tuesdays this season in a bid to open a second night of comedy consisting of Housewife and Fresh Off the Boat.

I liked the Middle at first. Then I lost track of when it was airing on Go!, so didn’t bother to try and catch up. I’m surprised it’s already up 9 seasons. Time flies.
Obviously I am too young to remember MiM, and The Middle is one of my all-time favourite shows. There are very few American sitcoms that I actually find funny, but this is one of the best. The writer’s must be parents of teens themselves because they nail it.
Congratulations, on nine wonderful seasons.
You can check MIM out on eleven weeknights. I was too old for MIM, personally never got into it, a little to mean spirited for my liking.
People stop saying The Middle is a copy of Malcolm In The MIddle when there is no similarity whatsoever it’s a completely different show
I’m actually shocked it’s still on, watched an episode years ago and it was like a bad version of malcolm in the middle.
The Middle is not Axed it is finishing while it is still popular with Viewers one of which I am
A favourite in our family. Sad. But it’s had a good run.
I’ve always been a fan of this show. While it’s still funny, it should have wrapped up a couple of seasons ago.
Such an underrated, funny, quirky little comedy. Shame it’s been axed, but nine years is a good run.
Being a fan of Neil Flynn in Scrubs, I wanted to like this show, but found it was a average attempt at recreating Malcolm in the Middle, but this time focusing more so on the mother. I had no idea it managed to reach the upcoming ninth season.
I didn’t watch it all the time, I knew it seemed familiar, I couldn’t place it and now you’ve said Malcolm in the Middle it did seem like a Homebrand version of MiM. I think Flynn and Heaton were the only thing worth watching.
