Updated: Lateline political correspondent David Lipson looks set to become political editor on 7:30, with Andrew Probyn as ABC News Political Editor.
Yesterday, following news of Uhlmann’s appointment at Nine, ABC issued a string of amendments for 7:30, effective from Monday:

Uhlmann thanked his colleagues and management upon announcing his departure yesterday. He begins at Nine in October.

Chris Uhlmann hasn’t been political editor for 7.30 since 2013. His current role is the ABC’s political editor. The ABC said yesterday that 7.30’s current political editor Andrew Probyn will step into Uhlmann’s old role while David Lipson will fill Probyn’s 7.30 gig.
