No Activity to be adapted for US

Will Ferrell’s production company to adapt Stan comedy for CBS All Access.

Locally-produced Stan comedy No Activity, which starred Patrick Brammall & Darren Gilshenan improvising as stake-out cops, is getting a US adaptation.

The Jungle series has been commissioned by CBS All Access, through Will Ferrell’s production company Gary Sanchez.

8 episodes will shoot in the final quarter of 2017, with Jungle’s Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall as Showrunners and Executive Producers. Jason Burrows and Joe Farrell will also serve as Executive Producers. It will also premiere on Stan in Australia.

The US edition will be set against the world of a major drug cartel bust, following two low-level cops who have spent far too much time in a car together; two criminals who are largely kept in the dark; two dispatch workers who haven’t really clicked; and two Mexican tunnelers who are in way too small a space considering they’ve only just met. It will air in between All Access seasons of Star Trek: Discovery.

The announcement marks the latest global success for Jungle. Review with Myles Barlow was remade by Comedy Central in the US into the three-season Review with Forrest McNeill. A Moody Christmas has two scripts optioned and written for CBS in the US.

Trent O’Donnell is currently directing Brooklyn 99 in the US, while Jason Burrows executive produces Mr Inbetween for FX.

No Activity, written and directed by Jungle’s Trent O’Donnell, was the first local commission by Stan.

    1. Should be okay given as it says in the story: with Jungle’s Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall as Showrunners and Executive Producers. It’s always good to have the creators in that postion (regardless of what Episodes told us), worked well for the US version of Wilfred having Jason Gann and Adam Zwar involved anyway.
