Next Monday Nine screens the new US crime limited series Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders.

Created by Dick Wolf, this is a dramatisation of the trial of Lyle and Erik Menendez who were convicted in 1996 for the murder of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez in Beverly Hills.

The case became a national obsession and became a notorious TV trial.

Edie Falco stars as Leslie Abramson, the defense attorney who represented Lyle (Miles Gaston Villanueva) and Erik (Gus Halper).

Heather Graham and Josh Charles also appear.

This premieres in the US on Wednesday.

This enthralling series produced by Dick Wolf, creator of the powerhouse Law & Order franchise, delves into the double murder and the media circus that surrounded the trial of the Menendez brothers. The trial became an American obsession by being shown live on television.

The Menendez Murders stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie, The Sopranos) as tenacious defence attorney, Leslie Abramson; Miles Gaston Villanueva as Lyle Menendez; Gus Halper as his brother Erik; Lolita Davidovich as their mother Kitty; and Carlos Gomez as their father Jose. The thrilling series features an outstanding support cast including Heather Graham (The Hangover), Josh Charles (The Good Wife), Julianne Nicholson (Eyewitness), Anthony Edwards (ER) and Elizabeth Reaser (The Good Wife).

Being born into a world of privilege, the mystery behind the case doesn’t lie within how the brothers did it, but why they committed such a shocking crime.

Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders is produced by Universal Television and Wolf Films.

  1. This must be at least the 4th movie/miniseries on the Menendez murders. Honor Thy Father & Mother, Menendez: Blood Brothers, Menendez: A Killing in Beverly Hills being at least three others.

    1. Not to mention, actual documentaries, which i prefer to watch, not a fan of miniseries pretending to be true crime they add to much drama and two people in a room having conversations …… that may or may not have happened.
