Airdate: Man with a Plan

New US sitcom starring Matt LeBlanc as a house husband begins on TEN next Monday.

New US comedy Man with a Plan premieres on TEN next Monday night, starring Matt LeBlanc as a house husband.

Created by Jackie and Jeff Filgo (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Happy Hour) the series didn’t attract great reviews the series but has been renewed for a second season.

Stacy Keach and Swoosie Kurtz also have recurring roles.

This premiered in the US last October.

Golden Globe Award winner Matt LeBlanc plays contractor Adam, a family man who spends more time with his kids after his wife Andi goes back to work, and discovers the truth all parents eventually realise: their little angels are actually devils.

Adam feels fully equipped to take up the slack when Andi returns to the workforce after being a stay-at-home mum for 13 years. However, he is soon blindsided by how tough it is to wrangle three messy kids, their many demands and handle their absolute addiction to Wi-Fi.

Pre-teen daughter Kate is a master manipulator who is initially thrilled that “Daddy Fun Times” is taking over, middle child Teddy cannot keep his hands out of his pants despite constant reminders, and youngest daughter Emme is nervous about starting kindergarten under the stern supervision of Mrs Wannamaker.

Adding to the chaos, Adam’s older brother and business partner Don enjoys giving him terrible advice about how to run his family. But, with Andi’s encouragement and advice from friends and fellow stressed parents Marie and Lowell, Adam takes charge of his brood, lays down the law and vows that he is going to nail this job.

9:30pm Monday October 2nd on TEN

  1. I refuse to watch sitcoms on free to air since The Odd Couple (it was the last straw) because of their inability to stay in one timeslot for the entirety of their season. It’s rather disappointing given this as well as others recently have looked good (e.g. Life in Pieces, Kevin Can Wait, etc.). Should we start taking bets on how long it’ll take before it is bumped?

    1. I reckon 4 weeks till it is bumped to ELEVEN.

Kevin can wait was disappointing (for it’s humour, rather than it’s time slot.). I don’t know how that can be the second highest rated comedy (my estimate from checking the US top 20 every week) in America.

  2. I’ve been waiting for this. My TV folder assured me that this was coming to TEN, but I was beginning to doubt. It has a good (for a sitcom) rating of 6.7 on IMDB.

Now I am only waiting on Chicago Justice on Nine, Knightfall on SBS, and the fifth season of Elementary on TEN.
