Futuristic US crime series Stitchers has been axed after three seasons.

The series centres around Kirsten Clark (Emma Ishta) who joins a “covert government agency” that investigates murders by hacking into the brains of the recently deceased.

But Freeform says episode 3.10, “Maternis,” will serve as both the season three finale and the TV series finale.

The third season had 365,000 US viewers, down by 6% on its second season.

It has screened in Australia on FOX8.

  1. I only watched the first three episodes of season one of Stitchers but found it too formulaic, but this generally works well in America with shows designed for multi-season production. Low budget syfy can sometimes work for five year runs especially if the main characters are less stereotypical and story development manage to keep audience anticipation levels high.
