US shows halt production due to hurricane

Irma is downgraded to a tropical storm, but a state of emergency across Georgia stops all filming.

A number of US shows shooting in Georgia have halted production due to Hurricane Irma.

Despite the downgrading from a Category 5 hurricane to a tropical storm, Georgia governor Nathan Deal has declared a state of emergency for the entire state.

Production on The Walking Dead in Atlanta has been halted for the second time on its eighth season -previously due to the death of stuntman John Bernecker.

Production for vampire drama The Originals and The Quad plus upcoming AMC series Lodge 49 have also halted work.

Also suspended are FOX series Star and the upcoming The Resident and Marvel’s Gifted. CBS Studios has shut down production on MacGyver and the upcoming Valor and Dynasty.

Feature films affected include  Avengers 4, Boy Erased and Ant-Man And The Wasp.

A decision is expected to be made later tonight or tomorrow on when they may resume.
