Kate DeAraugo faces court over weapons, drugs charges.

2005 Australian Idol winner says sorry and will plead guilty to serious charges in November.

2005 Australian Idol winner Kate DeAraugo, 31, will plead guilty to drug possession, drug driving and weapons offences.

The former Young Divas singer appeared in Bendigo Magistrates’ Court today, charged with possessing ice, drug driving, and possessing a knife and tomahawk.

DeAraugo was also charged with breaching bail after she was allegedly caught by police away from her Strathdale residence outside of her curfew hours on July 24. Police allege she was at BP Kyabram.

A charge of trafficking was withdrawn by prosecutors.

DeAraugo has previously spoken in the past of her mental health and addiction battles.

Outside the court today she told reporters, “Of course I am sorry.”

Ex-Young Divas singer Ricki Lee Coulter yesterday told The Daily Edition, “I ran into Paulini actually in Melbourne, a couple of weeks ago, but I haven’t spoken to Kate, in maybe eight years.

“It’s so sad seeing everything that is kind of going on with them and I think people forget that people that are in the public eye have struggles too.”

Magistrate Patrick Southey extended DeAraugo’s bail and adjourned her case until November 15.
