Monster Beach gets monster commission

Aussie animation will air across Turner channels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Melbourne-based BES Animation has begun pre-production on a new series of Monster Beach for the Cartoon Network.

The 52×11min series, created by Patrick Crawley, Bruce Kane and Maurice Argiro, will air across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

It follows two inseparable siblings, one a cheeky prankster with an appetite for fun and the other a self-appointed leader with a sense of adventure, as they live in a world of surfing, hot-rods and monsters.

Cartoon Network Australia previously screened a Monster Beach special in 2014, featuring Rove McManus & Tripod.

Patricia Hidalgo, chief content officer, Turner EMEA and international kids strategy, added: “The greenlight of Monster Beach is a great example of our approach to kids content development across international. Loveable stories and characters can come from all corners of the world, and we have made it our mission to seek out talent and IPs that we can nurture and grow.”
