  1. love Macklemore and his performance on the pre-show was “Glorious’. thought it was better then the afl but thats just my opinion
I am gonna make a big bold prediction for next years entertainment- 2018 will mark 25 years since the the legendary TinaTurner played at the NRL GrandFinal (she should be the entertainment for next years show- starting with ProudMary and her end song SimplyTheBest and the NationalAnthem sung by JessicaMauboy)

  2. Go ABC no drop for Dr Blake. Good numbers for Doc Martin. Taped both for later viewing. Watched Catchup TV myself having been away.
Pity Dr Blake isn’t as high as Friday night ratings from previous years. I wonder why??

    1. Yes it is good to see Doctor Blake maintain viewers and the Sunday night switch I think was an attempt to gain viewers, but it didn’t work. hopefully Doc Martin increases without the NRL!

      1. We’ll likely never know but, given recent Friday performances in general, I suspect that Doctor Blake would not be getting the numbers it currently is if it had been put back in its “regular” slot.

    2. It’ll be interesting to see how Dr Blake fares on the +7 & +28 numbers – in the past it’s picked up big gains there, and it wasn’t unusual for it to end up as the highest-rating non-news show on Friday nights.

Though I’d like to think otherwise, I suspect the current Sunday night slot will be hurting those numbers too…

  3. The only reason 9 have an evening Grand Final is to win the ratings share for the night and help them win the week. Not a football fan, but the AFL time is more family friendly, (should I mention AFL had more viewers… to keep that debate going?!) LOL

    1. Night time Grand Final is much better. Allows for far more coverage. In Brisbane Grand Final coverage started on 9, at 10:00am, went through to around 10:00pm. AFL Coverage started around 9:00am and finished at 5:00pm.

      1. Oh yes, I forgot that, wow.

But nevertheless, still commanding last night, maybe as a result of Ten’s poor program choices (given NRL Grand Final wasn’t at all thrilling).
