Rebel ready for round 2

Rebel Wilson is disappointed but not surprised that Bauer Media is appealing the size of the damages she won following a defamation case against the publisher in June.

And she is planning to expose more of company practices, according to her latest tweets:

Bauer Media yesterday said, “It’s important for us to revisit this unprecedented decision on the quantum of damages, which also has broad implications for the media industry.”

The appeal, which some legal experts suggest could see a hefty slice of the the $4.56m damages erased, does not have a court date as yet.

“This will be three judges in the Supreme Court,” showbiz reporter Peter Ford told The Morning Show.

“(Bauer Media) is saying they did defame her but what they cannot accept is that there was any direct link shown between missed work opportunities and those stories. In fact they say she gained work in the period shortly after the stories appeared.”
