The Secrets She Keeps: trailer

First look at upcoming 10 local drama with Jessica De Gouw & Laura Carmichael.

A trailer has been released for upcoming 10 psychological thriller The Secrets She Keeps starring Jessica De Gouw, Laura Carmichael and Michael Dorman.

The miniseries is directed by Catherine Millar and Jennifer Leacey, produced by Lingo Pictures’ Helen Bowden and Paul Watters, and adapted by Sarah Walker and Jonathan Gavin from the novel by Michael Robotham. Lingo Pictures’ Jason Stephens and 10’s Rick Maier are executive producers.

This is expected in Q2.

Two women have a chance encounter in a supermarket in an affluent Sydney suburb. They are the same age, both heavily pregnant and due at the same time. Meghan (Jessica De Gouw), is a glamorous online ‘influencer’ on the rise. Agatha (Laura Carmichael) works in the supermarket as a shelf stacker.

Although they live near each other, the two women’s lives could not be more different. Agatha is a loner, barely subsisting above the poverty line. She’s ecstatic to be pregnant, pinning all her hopes and dreams on this much longed-for baby.

Meghan is a sophisticated mother-of-two who uses her website to reframe her imperfect life into a glossier, more aspirational existence. Despite posting enthusiastically about her pregnancy, behind closed doors this third baby is putting pressure on a strained marriage.

Both women have secrets. And both will risk everything to conceal the truth. But their worlds are about to collide in one shocking act that cannot be undone.

  1. This is going to be good- hope 10 commission more good dramas like this! Looking forward to Pilot Week as well, if this could be the standard for production companies…

  2. I’ve read the book and it was a “ripper yarn” If they have kept true to the main plot and only made some minor adjustments for television, then it will be an enjoyable journey. Wishing Ch10 all the best for success with this!

  3. Considering the rubbish that’s typically commissioned by 10 since the CBS buyout, I was expecting this to be a turkey (particularly considering how bad the Pilot Weeks have been).

But colour me very, very pleasantly surprised indeed. I can’t even remember the last time I was interested in a local drama.

    I’m keen. 🙂

  4. That’s an awesome trailer. Not giving too much away but just enough for a fair amount of intrigue to set in.

As long as it’s nothing like that awful Secret Bridesmaid’s Business then we are good to go!

    1. Agreed. As long as it’s not like SWB. I felt too much shared though in the trailer. A little more concise. Looking forward to it though ?
