Wanted: Historic photos

The History Channel is calling for your family photos which have captured moments in Australia’s past.

The programme is called Photos for the Future.

Do you have a photo somewhere that illustrates a past incident, a person of significance, or just reminds us of something we had long forgotten?

You can send your photos along with a personal story to:

The History Channel is inviting viewers to share their past for the future with the launch of its PHOTOS FOR THE FUTURE campaign – an exciting initiative which will help build an archive of historic photos and stories for future generations.

The History Channel believes that in every home there is at least one photograph that holds not just personal, but also historical relevance. Perhaps a relative was present at an historic event. Perhaps you appear in a photograph with someone famous. Or maybe there’s a recent photo of your family visiting a building or monument that holds historical significance.

The History Channel is inviting viewers to share these photos and stories through PHOTOS FOR THE FUTURE, which will showcase the personal history of people throughout Australia.

The photographs and their accounts will be posted on The History Channel website in the Photos for the Future e-gallery. The History Channel may also feature a selection of the submitted photos as part of an accompanying on-air interstitial campaign to be broadcast on the channel.

To send your photos and story, logon to www.historychannel.com.au and follow the simple instructions to upload your photograph and submit your story.
