I have to make mention of the retirement of a quiet legend, Rosemary Margan, who retires from her media career today.
Rosie has 42 years in TV and radio, dating all the way back to her years at GTV9.
With her velvet tones and classy delivery, she has plugged every product from furs to perfume, most notably on In Melbourne Tonight.
It was during an ad read that Graham Kennedy let fly with his infamous “faaaaark” crow call.
The scene will be relived in the upcoming telemovie The King -with her role played by none other than her actress daughter, Cathy Godbold.
Margan has most recently been a regular at 3AW doing live ad reads during Neil Mitchell’s programme.
She retires two weeks short of her 70th birthday.
Thanks to the Herald-Sun for the photo.

You can see her in her famous silver polish (Tarn Off) ad here.
