Aussie shoot set for US debut

Debra Messing, Judy Davis and Miranda Otto will see their performances in The Starter Wife airing in the US next week.
The six hour telemovie was shot in Queensland.
Based on the novel of the same name, the series features Messing in a role as the wife of an ambitious movie studio exec, until she gets the one phone call that changes everything.
Not only does Molly’s husband inform her of his intentions to divorce just shy of their ten year anniversary but also he revokes her status as Wife Of instantly transforming her into a “Starter Wife”—a decided step down, if not out—in the Hollywood pecking order.
Also featuring in the telemovie are Joe Mantegna and Aussies Aden Young and Rodger Corser.
It premieres May 31 on the USA Network.

Ok thanks. I’m sure there are quite a few Aussie in support roles, part of the cost-saving really.
Did you know that it also stars another Australian Actress, 7 year old Bethany Whitmore? She plays “Jaden Kagen” the daughter of Debra Messings character “Molly Kagen”.
