Axed: Gilmore Girls

The rapid fire banter of Gilmore Girls is no more.

After seven seasons, the dramedy will end on May 15 in the US.

The drama with comic overtones followed the lives of single mom Lorelai Gilmore (Graham) and her equally bright and beautiful daughter as they grew up together, struggled through romances and tried to find their place in the world.

But creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had left due to contract disputes and the audience fell to 4 million.

Amy had previously described the show’s premise as “what if your mother was your best friend?”

The final episodes will center on Rory’s graduation from Yale, after which she will be forced to decide whether to accept a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Logan.
