Nooooo! Rosie leaves The View early

It’s official. Rosie O’Donnell will not return to The View.

After her on-air stoush with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck over Bush, the Iraq War and an obvious disrespect, ABC has announced Rosie will step aside 3 weeks earlier than her planned exit.

O’Donnell had announced she would quit last month.

But during the on-air argument O’Donnell explained she was tired of media spins about “big, fat, lesbian Rosie attacks poor, Christian Elisabeth,” a game she was no longer interested in playing.

She even told Elisabeth she could sprout all the Republican spins she wanted for the next 3 weeks.

Brian Frons, President of ABC Daytime, issued the following statement:

We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave. Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to ‘The View’ and wish her well.

Barbara Walters said: “I brought Rosie to the show. Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at The View. I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change.”

Rosie said, “I’m extremely grateful. It’s been an amazing year and I love all three women.”

Rosie made The View delicious television, for better or worse. She wears her heart on her sleeve, is outspoken, forthright and articulate.

Thanks for the fun Rosie, come back soon!

  1. I don’t understand her.

She seems to be the only one among a few who stand up to republicans, and give a voice to gay rights in the US, and she bows out early and gives Elizabeth free reign to spread her bush-loving lies?

Let’s hope they replace her with someone on the left, rather than another Elizabeth.

If only we could rid of the right-wing racist Lisa Oldfield on the embarrassing The Catch-up.
