Sexy Rexy prompts apology

SBS has been forced to apologise for airing an episode of Inspector Rex in which a man was murdered during a sexual encounter. It aired in a 7:30pm timeslot.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority found the content was “not sufficiently mild” and inappropriate for a PG classification.

ACMA upheld a complaint by a viewer on December 31 2006 and advised “SBS apologised for any distress the misclassification may have caused in its response to the complaint dated 14 December 2006.”

The German based drama currently airs Thursdays on SBS.

ACMA findings.
