Bert back for another round?

When I saw Bert Newton sign off on his final Family Feud episode a few weeks ago he thanked all his crew and farewelled the audience. But he also slipped in a plug to tell us Feud would be back in July. Say what?
Sure enough, there are episodes scheduled at 5pm from Monday July 2.
The first of these is a first-run ep, featuring footballers.
The remaining eps until Friday July 6 also feature warring groups, but they are repeat episodes.
It remains unclear why Nine would schedule these so soon after a public dropping, but given Bert had indicated the move in his final show, this is obviously no last minute decision.
Nine’s website tells us eps will air between August 6-10 and September 3-7. Why?

Odd. Well, my mum will be pleased since she finds Feud a tad refreshing after watching DonD for so long.
The single weeks in July Aug and Sept are certainly one of the more “creative” programming moves I can remember in a long time.
Up there for audience continuity….
It’s a commercial thing. They’re putting episodes on to keep a sponsor happy about a competition. Then Feud is dead and buried
Please say it isn’t so.
Bargain Hunt is far more enjoyable!
