[SBS/10:00pm] Sexual Intelligence – Presented by actress Kim Cattrall, (also executive producer), Sexual Intelligence takes viewers around the world in an exploration of the boundaries and aspirations of our own sexual identities. In the bucolic town of Dorset, Cattrall introduces us to the Abbas giant, carved into the chalky hillside centuries ago with a phallus measuring over three meters in length. In Pompeii, 18th and 19th century archaeologists uncovered a selection of phallic artefacts considered somewhat risqué. It was not until the year 2000 that the phallic oil lamps and doorstops were finally made accessible. The documentary looks at how the phallus retreated under the weight of Christian teaching. While the phallus was banished from view, the female form came to the fore. According to the documentary, sexuality at its human zenith involves ethics – the ability not to exploit, but to allow freedom, both in the act of sex and in the choice of sexual partners. 1. i asked SBS about their edited content from the contest and they claim not to have edited anything.. like, honestly, do they think we don’t know how Eurovision works?? Plus then they gave me a full-page spiel on why they have advertising, which wasn’t my issue! Nice work at listening to your audience, SBS! (no wonder they cancelled the Hotline program).. i’ve ordered the DVD from Amazon – i wasn’t going to buy it locally because i assume SBS then gets a cut of the profit by slapping their logo on the cover

  2. Do you know if the Eurovision repeat will be the unedited version?

SBS cut the Interval act (the 15 minute period when voting takes place). This year it was Apocalyptica… a Cello band that plays Metallica songs… with circus acts also on stage and around the arena.

It was certainly a highlight and it was a shame to come home and find SBS had cut it out (I was at Eurovision this year).
