400th Simpsons coming

TEN will end the current series of new Simpsons episodes with the show’s 400th episode, on Tuesday August 7.

In the episode “You Kent Always Say What You Want” Homer buys the 1,000,000th ice-cream cone at a local shop, and ends up on Kent Brockman’s news program, ‘Smartline.’

It aired in the US in May.

It will be preceded by two new eps, “Stop Or My Dog Will Shoot” (July 24) and “24 Minutes” (July 31) which is a parody of 24.

Meanwhile the new feature film breaks out in cinemas on Thursday.

  1. Even if the Simpsons DVD boxsets were up to date with the episodes being screened, they wouldn’t release the DVDs until they’ve aired on TV.

And I STRONGLY doubt that you’d need to watch the final 2 episodes of Season 18 to be able to comprehend the storyline of The Simpsons Movie.

  2. I thought I had heard that the 400th episode of The Simpsons was the precursor to the Simpsons Movie, if that is still true then it’s no real suprise ch10 hasn’t the respect to play the show as is intended.

If the DVD’s for “The All New Simpsons” were not so expensive and more current I’d probably just buy it on DVD and watch the show on DVD rather than when ch10 decides to actually show it.

  3. I was hoping that TEN would have played the final two episodes together like they did in the US, although I’m not surprised they didn’t seeing as the repeats at 8pm usually rate as well as (if not better) than the 7.30pm episode.

Well, I’m just glad that they’re getting it out of the way now instead of holding them off until September/October like they usually do.
