Their stories throw light on ancient traditions, religious strife and some harsh social realities. Both Mohammad and Maryam are HIV positive, part of a growing crisis in Iran. In spite of its image of austere Islamic fundamentalism, the country faces an AIDS epidemic caused by widespread intravenous drug use. Arash is an unlikely matchmaker between HIV positive patients. The film delves into parts of Iran rarely seen in the West – a country with the highest proportion of drug users anywhere in the world, and where strict religious attitudes are struggling to cope with the impending AIDS crisis. Opium, and the increasingly refined heroin flood across the Afghan border, have made drug abuse the greatest social problem facing the Republic. 1. Guess what? Anna Coren just introduced a spot on the voices of the Simpsons this evening saying that they recently got together for the show Inside The Actors Studio on Ovation.

That’s really interesting. I’d love to know their definition of recently considering I saw that very episode of Inside The Actors Studio on Sky 1 in New Zealand towards the end of 2005 and the original air date in the US was 9th February 2003.

  2. The dangers of Navy life hits home when Jaffa dies from jellyfish poisoning.

Hey David, any chance you could vet these a little so plot spoilers like this above aren’t seen?

    Thanks for a top blog… 🙂
