Kerry O’Brien, host of the ABC’s 7:30 Report reprimanded an ABC production crew member during last night’s broadcast, not realising the microphone was picking up his conversation.
O’Brien was unhappy with an autocue script.
“I don’t know what’s happened, but I changed my bloody links. I changed that link and I wrote it into the Canberra cue, and that’s not the link I’ve written,” he was heard to say.
He had stumbled through an introduction to an item, leading up to the serve being heard on air.

…or make fun of obese people
…or all his audience dumb
I think this story is a storm in a teacup. I heard it, and really, the issue was simply that somehow the opening he wrote in sydney had ysteriously changed by the time he arrived in Canberra.
I heard it … he was ‘short’ to say the least! … But that’s what makes him such a ‘no bull’ interviewer I guess!
I really hate it when the Channel get all indignant and overly pious about these simple mistakes and remove the announcer or other excessive responses …. they are human, someone made a mistake, laugh about it and move on!!!!
Jack!
Not as bad as Naomi Robson’s outburst. At least he didn’t swear.
